THIS IS PRETTY mEAn!

Hello Jask Readers

I was lucky enough to be invited by the Jask Report to contribute high art, music and events to this very esteemed blog. There is only one problem, I may be high at times, but hardly ever esteemed. But I digress, fore this is not about me, this is about you. I only hope to provide the readers of this site an occasional taste of my brand of sarcasm. Yes I am jaded and cynical, but that doesn't mean you need to be. In fact, I encourage the proliferation of positivity, though I rarely participate in it's promotion. That's probably overstating the matter, but I hope to keep the thresh hold as low as possible for as long as I can...Make sense? No? Well then, the following videos will make even less sense!

Now all I need is some Jask Clothing to rock (hint) and I will be on my way to The Bay

One Step Closer?

So if you don't really know who's behind Jask Clothing, I will say this: It can be summed up as a combination of the thought process behind two people. Both me and my partner, Jerry, hold full time jobs. So I guess it would be only right to say that we use this line as our hobby and creative outlet. We're very different in every aspect of our perspectives, but I'll save the details for another day.

For now, what you need to know is that I am a graphic designer by day (or should I say most of the day and sometimes well into the night) and Jerry is.....well, I don't really think I can describe him under one job title...I think I'll just add the letters A.D.D. after his name because he's all over the place.

In any case, in my day job, we deal with an impressive client list – one being the soon-to-be-constructed (maybe?) Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The whole process of a new "landmark" entering a community is definitely an interesting one, especially from a perspective that is behind-the-scenes. The Barclays Center recently launched a showroom to promote their suites in the New York Times building with the opening reception graced by the likes of Jay-Z and many other Nets execs. Here are some behind-the-scenes pics of the showroom the day before the reception:

Inside the showroom is a replica of an actual suite that features a screen which gives a panoramic view of what you might actually see. They had this projection screen switch depending on where the suite was located.

The entrance corridor was done in a timeline fashion that covered the entire history of BK. Signage was done by the world-renown design firm, Pentagram.

Smack-dab in the middle of the showroom is a cube-shaped projector that displayed videos and all that other good shtuff....

Life, Elevation, & Maintaining - The Moon is still Black

This photo was taken in 2004 for the CMJ Music Marathon in NYC, which was our first time meeting some of the members Black Moon. A few weeks ago we hooked up with Sean “Ope” Williams a.k.a Paper Chasr" who has been working on a documentary called "Know you got Sole" which you can find here:

Sean contacted us and said we had to meet with Evil Dee and 5 Ft. at Sputnik (currently managed by Vin Black)
which is one of the gems in Bucktown USA aka Brooklyn It was truly a "flashback" on how I used to listen to this legendary group back in High School and actually seeing them live and NOW collaborating with them on an up & coming project (thanks to Sean of course).

This is how things evolve once you work hard at what you do and stick to it.
We really got to sit down and throw things on the table and realizing that they were in the ""STRUGGLE" just like us. Besides just getting to know them as an artist but also finding out who they really were as individuals and how they found their true love which brought us all together which is Hip Hop.

Did you know? 5FT and Evil met back in Bushwick High School & had a group called Unique Image. They met Buckshot in Brownsville afterwards and since they all shared the same dreams at the time, 5 FT decided it would be a good idea to bring them all together and the rest is history....Will Black Moon come back with another album? Only time will tell.

You are probably wondering whats been going on with 5FT now? You are going to have to wait and find out. I can give you a hint, he's workin on a solo album with Evil. The goal now for 5FT is to bring hip hop back to its roots and make it global.
