Liquid Swords

Swords + Umbrellas = Swordbrellas!

The designers of umbrellas are getting better and better. Since we live in the NY area we always get rain and living by the Hudson River, you need to spend some dollars on a quality umbrella, my last post on the Senz umbrella has made me a very happy customer since they are wind and storm proof.

Blame it on the effin rain

since we've been getting some gloomy skys and rain, I figure to show you guys this new product that came out designed by Artemy Lebedev and Anton Schnaider.

It's incredibly comfortable carabiner handle easily clasps to your backpack when it’s not raining.

Here are the specs.

The cost is about $46.00 a pop.

Designers: Artemy Lebedev, Anton Schnaider
Automatic open/close
Material: 100% polyester
Length when closed: 40 cm (15.7″)
Dome diameter: 105 cm (41.3″)
Dome sections: 8 pcs.

If I had to choose, I still would stick with the Senz umbrella that I got.

Innovative Designs

I have been looking in more of different design elements lately and found these were quite innovative.

This is the Sonic Chair designed by Holger Fritzlar, Frank Hussong, Michael Kientzler and Daniela Reuter

These are the Mini Ok Chairs strictly for the kids and it also comes in black leather.

This I actually do own, which is the Senz Umbrella which recently was released to the U.S. It was designed by Gerwin Hoogendoorn who got fed up with broken umbrellas from 20 mph winds.
What caught my eye about this product was actually on GMA when Sam Champion was using it against a wind fan in the studios.

It has been a 2007 red dot design award winner and nominated for the german design award 2008.

It has been tested here at 133 km/h. See for your self.
