Frank Sinatra
Living in the neighborhood that Francis Albert Sinatra was from really has some reflection of where it was and where the city has become today. Nothings really changed except the people and also the shops. He was never really proud of where he came from but focused on where he was going but 30-50 years ago The City of Hoboken was considered one of the toughest areas in Hudson County and even on the tri-state. If you took a walk down on 1st Street, it was 50/50, you either got jacked or you didn't.
Sinatra was given the key to the City of Hoboken on October 30, 1947 which we celebrate "Sinatra Day" and The U.S. Congress passed a resolution on May 20, 2008 designating May 13 as Frank Sinatra Day to honor his contribution to American culture. The resolution was introduced by U.S. House representative.
We're celebrating your 94th Birthday because we don't forget your music and it will live on through the rest of us.
Frank Sinatra has been a musical icon for generations and generations and will live on through generations after generations because his type of music was for any festivities or holidays, there's always room for Frank....so Sing it again Frank....sing it again....
