Is Retro making a Fresh comeback ?

Here are the Retro kids who have been hitting the scene hard in the NY streets the since 2006 and have been seeing them on BET, MTV, advertisements for Chaka Wilson and his former partners of ENYCE's :Parish and recently in the NY Times. Through it all the flare of style during the 80s and early `90s, revising New York and early hip-hop fashion has taken a look back at memory lane and is re-opening a new market of Pop couture and culture strongly influenced by Hip-Hop during that period.

Even the folks at Fruition in Las Vegas have caught the eyes of New Yorkers and artists like MIA.

Recently there's a new crew out in NY and its not the Juice crew that Marley Marl founded in the '80s, which sparked a long time Bridge War between Dr. Roxanne Shante & MC Shan & Boogie Down Productions back in the 80's.

This Juice crew (picture below) was formed by upcoming female rap artist Tokyo Diva In September 2007 who hail from the Bronx, Brooklyn,Queens and Harlem. They have 50 followers and growing.

There motto: "Anyone can have talent but not everyone has "JUICE"."

Don't forget Brooklyn's own Tommy Rebel of Brooklyn's Basement who has been holding it down since 1987 who has appeared in numerous films such as Sneaker Addicts , Just for Kicks, &

the upcoming film KNOW YOU GOT SOLE documentary from my homeboy Sean "Paperchaser" Williams that should be dropping the end of the year. If you really want to understand the whole aspects of the sneaker movement, I suggest you checking out his weekly talk show every Wed. evening at 9:00 p.m. Eastern - OSD-Obsessive Sneaker Disorder
