It has been a while that I have taken a trip down to Philadelphia for some Dim Sum. It probably has been about 10 years since I have gone to the Imperial Inn in Philadelphia: 146 North 10th Street

I used to hang right up the block at a friend's loft around the corner across from the Reading Market on North 12th Street.

I was actually shocked to see how many non-Asians were sitting in the restaurant and it made me realize that the times have changed. What used to be a predominantly Asian American hang out "gem" on a Sunday brunch now has reached out to all cultures around the city. It has thrived into an enriched melting pot of people who enjoy a good meal on a Sunday with their family or friends. I must say that the service was great, only had to wait 10 minutes before we got seated.

Some things haven't changed though when I walk the streets of Chinatown, you can see some of the shops still have the same signs. Check out some of the photos I took around town.

You may not know of DJ Skeme, but if you're from Illadelphia, you probably do.
It's his 26th year in the hip hop game and not only is DJ Skeme a DJ, but he's also a b-boy, (by the way earned him a members-only card in the famous Rock Steady Crew) and a producer.

So they say that the city of brotherly love never got into the B-boy thing says DJ Skeme.....but some say that there's a new scene and in my earlier blog post, retro is back and the b-boy scene is trying to make a comeback.

But don't call it a comeback because DJ Skeme Richards has been doing his part and has stuck with the local Hip hop scene in Philly. He released in 2007 the b-boy essentials Vol. 1 & 2 which is comprised of some rare 45's, funk, and break beats.

If you are around the Philly area in July, save this date because its going to be a throwback with him and my main man DJ Cash Money:

You can not deny that this man has not touched you regardless if you like him or hate him - He's a man of clarity and conviction. This speech will go down in the history books for our kids and reflect in an era where CHANGE really is happening right before our eyes for a better country as a whole. He's a modern day fundamentalist where he can lead the path by which America can work together to pursue a better future.

After hearing him speak today, he has opened America's eyes to the rest of the world to think beyond race and to give this country hope again.

So why not BOTH the hope and faith for the future of our country having Obama's energy with Clinton's expertise....it may seem too early to see this chemistry but I think it may be only in another lifetime.

But just so everyone knows, we do have a choice in this country so take advantage and get involved, because it comes down to "We the people..."

I am not telling anyone out there that he is the future because no one wants to be told how to vote - and we make all kinds of judgement about politicians these days. This is free press, as Jefferson noted, is part of our system of checks and balances which is 1 of the few guarantors of Democracy. So we need to preserve both the reality and the appearance of this freedom that we all have.
