NJ Skateshop official opening today
I checked out the store today and was able to take a few photos while I was there. Big up to Chris Nieratko and Steve Lenardo who have opened their 3rd Skateboard shop in Dirty Jerz. They seemed exhausted on the opening but had a lot of support.
When you walk in the shop its a skateboarders dream and I'm really happy to finally see a dope shop that represents the edge of this city which you rarely see vs. all these boutique shops which has opened up the past 5 years.
The shop carries anything you need for skateboarding like Nike SB jackets, New Era caps, T-shirts like In4mation, Diamond Supply Co., DC, Zoo York, and hopefully Jask in the near future! They also carry some exclusive SB's like Lobster tail, New Castle, and even Gibson with a lot of sizes so if you are looking, this is definitely a place to check out.
A lot of folks don't realize that the skateboarding culture has grown tremendously in this city due to the skate park that is on Sinatra Drive. I wrote a previous post about the skate park earlier last month. You can see the pics here.
The city is trying to find the right vendor to revamp the park and I am currently trying to work on this with the city. Volcom happens to be one that is interested and hopefully NJ Skate shop will get involved also.
One thing I hope to see in their shop is bikes, its becoming more of an issue for parking in this town. It would be awesome to see some freestyle bikes like Haro, Mongoose, GT, and others as well.
You can find the shop on 91 Hudson St.
