Happy 4th of July, looks like America's Joey "Jaws" Chestnut took the title back and emerged victorious for the 2nd year in a row in the 5 dog eat off at Coney Island. Joey beat 20 others who had only ten minutes to eat down as many hot dogs as possible, 2 minutes less than in previous years. He said "I couldn't eaten more, but my body wasn't cooperating."
At one point, Joey led Kobayashi 14 to 11. Kobayashi fell to 3rd place, but ate his way back and the 2 went dog-to-dog in the final stretch scarfing down as much dogs. After aphoto-finish, the judges decided it was a tie with 59 Nathan's Hotdog eaten after the new ten-minute time limit that was set, but Joey Chestnut prevailed by winning a five-dog "eat off
This is still one of my favorite Kobayashi moments because I can't believe people have gotten this far:
