Shoot! Ribs and Barbeque!

Welcome to the agency world

The Vendor Client relationship - in real world situations, during the tough times that we encounter this has become so true on some clients that I have dealt with in the past, and some of it has gotten way out of hand, don't know why people think that everything is free. Is it me or am I taking crazy pills?

Transparency and Open Government

Since I have been working for local government I am beginning to realize that there are a lot of transparency issues the past 10 years and it has gotten better, being responsible with the city website and giving it a major face lift from what it used to look like, which has helped the community so much better on getting access to information with the help of a better site that is much more easy to navigate and transparent.

I have been following Obama the past few years and have seen what he has done using online social media and gravitating to future generations by doing such a great job on the website and you can see the past post I did here about the meaning of the "O".

On January 21, 2009, his first full day in office, the President issued a Memorandum on Transparency and Open Government and called for recommendations for making the Federal government more transparent, participatory, and collaborative.

The President has welcomed the open government innovations being developed across the Government and has encouraged each of his Cabinet departments to adopt more open government innovations in the coming year.

On May 21, 2009, the Administration kicked off an unprecedented process for public engagement in policy making on the White House website. As Valerie Jarrett, Senior Advisor to the President said, we are proud to announce an important next step in this historic call to action one that will help us achieve a new foundation for our government a foundation built on the values of transparency, accountability and responsibility.

How does everyone like the new Times Square?

So how do you feel, most New Yorkers are not fond of it, but all in all is it best for Times Square. I have heard that you can not drive through there and its a bit of a detour that you have to be accustomed to but as you can see if you are visiting, now they have lawn chairs for pedestrians?

The project is the brainchild of Department of Transportation Commissioner Janette Sadik-Khan; she told WCBS 2, "There will be a period of adjustment as people get used to the new traffic patterns. But we believe particularly on Sixth Avenue we're going to see some immediate relief." She has also emphasized it's a work in progress and that adjustments may be made.

Nyle - Let the Beat Build

Nyle "Let The Beat Build" from Nyle on Vimeo.

This video has recently been making its rounds on the internet and I was inclined to post it up here for those of you who have not yet seen it. NYC rapper Nyle is behind this rap which uses the music behind Lil Wayne’s “Let The Beat Build,” which was one of my favorite tracks on my favorite album of 2008, Tha Carter III. As a song, it’s great. As a video, it’s even better. The music was recorded completely live as the video was shot and includes many different musicians, lyricists and a ton of perfectly coordinated camera moves and lighting queues. Basically, it’s a must-watch for any video nerd or rap fan such as myself.

Filling in the gaps

Check out this Dispatchwork over in Berlin Germany:

Jan Vormann did his Dispatchwork again, this time, he fills up mostly holes that remained from the World War II in Berlin with Lego bricks. He did it before in Bocchignano, Italy, a village close to Rome. In Berlin, he and many spontaneous people started helping him fill the bullet holes with Lego bricks at a building of Humbold University.

And he also has an indoor exhibition at Jarmuschek + Partners gallery, Berlin till 13th of June. If you get a chance, peep it out. Thats some New World Order.

Intel Star

Apparently, To ring in the new campaign literally a group of Intel employees rang the ceremonial opening bell for the NASDAQ Stock Market at on May 11. The ceremony broadcasted live in Times Square on the video screen of the seven-story NASDAQ building and at www.nasdaq.com.

In the commercial, which will air coast-to-coast and around the globe, Bhatt struts into an Intel cafeteria and is greeted by a loud guitar riff, as women swoon and colleagues press in for his signature. In the ad, mustachioed, elegantly coiffed actor Sunil Narkar plays Bhatt, who is clean shaven and has a spare hairstyle. And the commercial's futuristic, glassy workplace looks nothing like Intel's fabric cubicle farms in Washington County. Representing Intel's biggest marketing campaign in nearly 3 years and the first that spotlights the promotion of the Intel brand and not a processor product, "Sponsors of Tomorrow" will launch May 11 in the US Germany and the United Kingdom with limited teaser ads starting today online. Over the next month the campaign will expand to more than two dozen countries with Brazil and Japan rounding out the planned markets in the third quarter.

Nasty Nas in your area causing mass hysteria

Nas performed a few weeks ago at Hunter College along with DJ Green Lantern on the 1's and 2's and blew me away. Made me realize that Nas is still loved in NYC.

Hearing the audience sing along to most of his songs made me realize how much love his fans have for him, especially the recent news of divorce with his wife Kelis, I felt that I got to see some passion coming out from him.

First off he went through all his nine studio albums and played all the hits from Illmatic all the way to last year's controversial album title "Untitled"

FREE ARTS NYC ANNUAL ART AUCTION BENEFIT 09

Every year, I hit up this event for Free Arts NYC, a non-profit that mentors under-privileged kids through art. They hold an art auction to help raise money for this company and this year had a pretty good turnout. This year saw the likes of Kevin Bacon, Molly Sims, Michelle Monaghan and some dude from Gossip Girl (my girl damn near lost her mind when she saw him and in her excitement, she blurted out something that sounded like a name...but it sounded more like FJSGNVLRENASFKCBM!!!!). Dude was camera-shy so I have no pic of him. I'm sure there were other celebs here, but I really had no clue who they were. Calvin Klein provided the space this year.

Donna D'Cruz provided the soundtrack for the night.

And this had to be my favorite piece of the night. This one done by a man that goes by DiRQuo. Maaan....if I had a grip to spend...

Atlantis Shuttle Launch

Anyone get to see the launch of Atlantis early today?

Check out the twitpics of folks of today's launch:

RIP Chuck Daly

I grew up watching Chuck Daly while he coached the "Bad Boys" of Detroit, he was universally admired for his class and coaching acumen.

“I never understood how a great man and nice guy coached the Bad Boys,” Charles Barkley said.

Daly died Saturday morning at 78 in Jupiter, Fla., with his family by his side, the Pistons said. The team announced in March he was being treated for pancreatic cancer.

Daly was renowned for his ability to create harmony out of diverse personalities at all levels of the game, whether they were Ivy Leaguers at Pennsylvania, Dream Teamers Michael Jordan and Barkley, or Pistons as dissimilar as Dennis Rodman and Joe Dumars.

Daly was voted one of the 10 greatest coaches of the NBA’s first half-century in 1996, two years after being inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. He was the first coach to win both NBA and Olympic titles.

The Hall of Fame coach led the Dream Team to the Olympic gold medal in 1992 after winning back-to-back NBA championships in Detroit and the rumor was that he never took a timeout while coaching the dream team.

Introducing the Porsche Panamera Turbo

via daily motion and ultimatecarpage

Roughly nine months before the actual market launch, Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, has released the first official photos of the Panamera in its final look. In its design, profile and silhouette, Porsche's unique four-seater stands out clearly as a new member of the Porsche family. Conceived and designed as a four-door grand touring sports car, the Panamera combines numerous talents in typical Porsche style: sporting driving dynamics, a generous and variable interior, and the supreme driving comfort of a Gran Turismo. Joining the 911, Boxster and Cayman sports cars as well as the sporty SUV Cayenne, the Panamera is Porsche's fourth model series.

The designers of the Panamera have succeeded in positioning this unique car as a brand-new and truly different model while nevertheless retaining the looks of a typical Porsche. Through its proportions alone, the Panamera stands out clearly in its market segment: measuring 1931 millimetres or 76.0 inches in width, the Panamera is wider, and measuring 1418 millimetres or 55.8 inches in height, lower than comparable four-door models. The unmistakable, sleek GT silhouette is created by the car's overall length of 4970 millimetres or 195.7 inches and short, sporting overhangs front and rear. In its styling and details, the Panamera follows the design philosophy refined over decades on the 911 and successfully implemented also on the Boxster, Cayman and Cayenne.

Through its design language alone, the Panamera will establish a new segment versus the competition. The symbiosis of sports car DNA derived from the looks of a coupé, the unique interpretation of the classical saloon body and the benefits of a variable space concept give the new Porsche its truly unmistakable appearance. As an example, the Panamera comes with highly individual, strongly contoured air intakes instead of a conventional radiator grille. Striking wheel arches and the long and sleek engine compartment lid create that typical 911 ''landscape'' at the front end of the car the Porsche customer has appreciated for no less than 45 years, with the distinctly contoured wings as flanks bordering on the flat front lid. The V-shaped seams along the engine compartment lid and the rear window tapering out like an arrow to the rear convey the features characteristic of a sports car to the new, highly individual Panamera class. The striking, muscular shoulders over the rear wheels, the dynamic sweep of the coupé-like roofline, and the visible tailpipes again bear out all the DNA so typical of a thoroughbred Porsche.

The elegant roof arch extends stylishly over the generous interior, simply begging the beholder to get inside. Like all Porsche models, the Panamera is oriented in every respect to the needs and wishes of the driver. But now, thanks to the new concept of space and the sporting architecture of the interior, the car's occupants are also able to experience this special ''pilot feeling'' on all four seats. All four occupants enjoy supreme ergonomic comfort on both the front seats and the two firmly contoured single seats at the rear. The luggage compartment easily takes up all the passengers' luggage. The variable space concept with its folding rear seat backrests enables the driver and passengers to adjust the luggage space individually to their personal requirements. And last but not least, the coupé tailgate in the sporting rear end combines superior suitability for daily use with stylish elegance.

Porsche has developed superior and up-to-date power units for the Panamera again reflecting all the qualities typical of the brand - the V-engines within the engine compartment come with six and eight cylinders and range in power from 300 to 500 bhp. Some of the engines use turbocharger technology, Direct Fuel Injection making them both fuel-efficient and powerful all in one. The flow of power to the wheels goes either through a manual six-speed gearbox or the new seven-speed Double-Clutch Gearbox, the so called Porsche-Doppelkupplung (PDK).

In addition to sporting rear-wheel drive, the top version of the Panamera comes with even more sophisticated all-wheel drive, which is also available for the other versions as an option. As a further highlight, Porsche is preparing a particularly fuel-efficient version of the Panamera with hybrid drive. Further details on the engines, transmissions, performance, prices and equipment will be disclosed next spring.

The Porsche Panamera will be built at Porsche's Leipzig Plant, where a production hall measuring some 22,000 square metres or almost 237,000 square feet and a logistics centre are currently under construction. While the engines featured in the Panamera are built at Porsche's Main Plant in Zuffenhausen, the painted bodyshells will be supplied by the Volkswagen Plant in Hanover. The Leipzig Plant will then assemble the Panamera for final delivery, with an annual sales target of some 20,000 units. Porsche is once again cooperating largely with German suppliers in the production of the Panamera, with some 70 per cent of the car's overall value being created domestically. Hence, the Panamera is most definitely a car ''Made in Germany''.

The Panamera will be making its world debut in spring 2009 and the first models will be at dealers worldwide in late summer of next year.

Has the economy caused people to jump?

While I was working, I got a phone call that a man on a rooftop on Washington Street between 3rd and Washington St.

So i went and checked it out and there you go a man on the edge of the building while cops were trying to talk to him not to jump, I didn't think he was going to jump because he would have jumped but the result they were able to get him to come down after an hour.

Some rumors say it was a political stunt since there was a woman who's headquarters was across the street and the election actually is tomorrow for the City of Hoboken.

Guess we'll never find out, but sometimes you have to question incidents in life sometimes its all smoke and mirrors....

PUMA X BODE Mid Da Lizard Pack

Still not sure if I am liking this more than the first series that the Puma X Bode came out with but definitely like the placement of the designs except the big designs on the both sides of the shoe near the ankles, a bit to much.
